As a new patient at the Boulder Sports Chiropractic Center, your initial visit will include the following:
- Consultation/History - We will sit down with you to ask about your condition, and to discuss your health concerns.
- Physical Examination - We will do a thorough examination to arrive at an accurate diagnosis of your condition, which will allow Dr. Lowney to recommend the best course of treatment for you.
- X-Ray Examination - We refer patients who need X-rays to the Boulder Community Hospital’s imaging department on an "as needed" basis. While x-rays can often be helpful, the majority of the patients we see do not require them.
- Treatment – Your condition will be treated at your first appointment. Our goal is to get you up and back to normal as quickly as possible.
- Referrals - If your condition requires the expertise of someone other than us we will refer you to one of the many medical doctors, physical therapists, or other professionals that we work with regularly.
- Recommendations - We place a strong emphasis on self care, which is also known as active care. We will help you with the following:
- Recovering from your current condition
- Exercise programs for strength, stability, and flexibility to prevent future problems
- Improved bending and lifting techniques
- Improved Posture
- Nutritional counseling, if you desire it
- Improved ergonomics at work and home
- Enhanced performance in sports and in your daily life
